JUNE 11 (COUPLES FOR CHRIST vs KICKASS) The 2 rivals meet for the last game of the elimination round. The winner gets to the playoffs. It's do or die for each team.
CFC and Kickass have been each others throats for so long. CFC can't accept the fact that Kickass is a much better team than they are. They can't accept the fact that the other is younger, faster, and more talented. So, CFC trys to kill the youngsters on the court. Pushing and pulling, them for the entire game.
But despite the harsh plays, the kickass team was stilll able to maintain a commanding lead through out the game. Ryan "Mico" Dolores and AC Musngi led the team by scoring consistently through out the game. While Andy Hasselman collected a career-high 32 rebounds despite just scoring 1 point throughout the entire game.
CFC couldn't keep up with the momentum Kickass has built, and they were playing dismally as a whole.
The leap in maturity was very evident this time in the part of the Northern Kickass. The ball rotated until it hit an open man or someone who can break the defence. They also had a couple of highlights. In the 1st half with 10:23 time remaining AC crossed over Bon, faking right to left. Bon fell flat to the ground. And in the 2nd half, when CFC was trying to catch up, CFC double teamed Mico Dolores from the inbound. Mico crossed over the 2, then he was triple teamed. Then he drove to the hoop in with 5 players after him. He did a behind the back lay-up, and the shot was good with the foul.
At the end of the elimination round, Mico Dolores still remains the #1 scorer in the league while AC Musngi, earned mythical 5 honors.
